Gyurjyan strengthened  previously reached collaboration agreements, emphasizing that the main  building material of the Urartian fortresses of  Erebuni and Karmir blur was  mud-brick, and the materials found from that archaeological sites widely  disclosed  the possibilities of its usage, composition, color and the peculiarities of its  physicochemical and mechanical characteristics.

Director of the museum G.Gyurjyan highlighted the importance of the practical courses,   carried out by the specialist of CRAterre,  which referred to the  methods  of preparing  mud brick and to its material. The students of  NUACA and the employees of  “Erebuni” museum participated in that courses and  got certificates of qualification.

This problem becomes more urgent on the eve of  the 2800 anniversary of Erebuni-Yerevan /2018/,  for the implementation of the  extensive restoration  project.

G. Gyurjyan spoke about the successful collaboration with the French archaeologists and mentioned that the scope of  the abovementioned  cooperation can be expanded  by making researches on the mud brick with the  institutions dealing with the problems of preservation of the earthen architecture, which will significantly contribute to the conservation of earthen heritage, to the opportunities of its contemporary development.
